Nordschleife Tuition OptionsAnyone who's been to the "green hell" will know that it's not your typical track day circuit. Sourcing ARDS qualified instructors with significant Nordschleife experience is difficult at the best of times - factor in the date clash with the BTCC at Snetterton and Caterhams at Brands Hatch it's pretty much impossible.
Instead we've opted to source local instructors who work at the Nordschleife regularly and have significant experience there. Unfortunately, as ARDS is a UK body, these local coaches are not ARDS qualified. We have instructors available for full day (£700), half day AM (£475), half day PM (£375) and half day (4 x 1 hour sessions £375).
We've also got our regular instructors going to drive the course cars again, as we did in 2010 for our last visit to the Nordschleife. This time, they'll be driving track-prepared BMW 1-series cars and lapping the circuit continuously on the lookout for any incidents - eager to get use their flashing yellow beacons!
A few of our regular clients have enquired about passengering in these BMW course cars so we're making 30 minute sessions available for £30 each to give clients the opportunity to get some pointers without the expense of a half day with an instructor. These 30 minute sessions can be booked in the normal way via the online event booking form. The half and full-day instruction can be booked on the same form using the drop-down box at the bottom of the page.
From a personal perspective, the tuition I received from 'Ring-grandad Simon Lambert in 2010 transformed the circuit for me from an awkward "B-road" that I was pottering along at 4/10ths into the serious adrenaline rollercoaster that it's widely regarded as being. I did half a dozen laps in the R300 and was seriously doubting what it was all about. Having someone pointing out which corners are flat out (despite being blind!) really did make all the difference.
Here's a pic of me pootling around the Nordschleife in my (then-new) R300 - daunting doesn't even come close!
